Vicky Van Buren
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Vicky Van Buren, APRN, CPNP-PC lives in the North Arlington area with her husband and their son and daughter. They have a red heeler mix named Kylo (Kylo Ren when he misbehaves) who keeps them very active with walking and playing. Vicky enjoys activities with her family and friends, all things Disney, reading, and cooking. She is active in her children’s school and activities and in her church community.

Background

Vicky grew up in Arlington, TX with passion for playing music and participating in her church youth group.  Her father was a professor at the University of Texas at Arlington and instilled a lifelong love for teaching others. Her mother stayed busy with her and her sister and brother with all their activities.

Education

Vicky began her career as a registered nurse at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.  She worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings in Pediatrics and adult Pain Management.  Prior to coming to Arlington Prime Pediatrics, she worked as a nurse practitioner for 13 years in John Peter Smith’s Schools Based Clinic program seeing children from birth to age 21.

Additionally, Vicky has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington since 2017. Her teaching experience includes Heath Assessment, Pediatric Health Assessment Lab, and Pediatric Clinical Practice.

Experience

Vicky is a graduate of Martin High School in Arlington. She attended Baylor University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After several years of nursing practice, she went back to school and received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is board certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
